It all started in 2004 when we were looking for a little retreat in a safe haven away from the growing conflicts in the northern hemisphere.  So with our spirit of adventure, well-honed from living in California for so many years, and a love of wine we traveled to Mendoza to pursue our passion. 

After looking at two dozen properties, we bought forty-six acres of raw land with a few olive trees in beautiful San Rafael in the southern Mendoza province, an area known for its well-balanced wines.  At the time, the price was about the same as a new SUV.

We hired an agronomist (vineyard expert) to design and plant a vineyard.  Malbec of course.  We thought we ordered five acres not, as it turned out, five hectares (about 2.5 acres per hectare).  Then we went back to California with a few bottles of local wine and a lot of photographs.

Months later we returned to see 18,000 vines where an abandoned farm used to be, and still many more acres ripe for plantation.  It was quite a sight, especially having never been in the wine business before.

We soon discovered, however, that having your own vineyard and making your own wine is a lot more difficult than it looks.  So we started a company to help other wine aficionados live their dream without all the hard work.

Now after many years, a total investment well over seven figures, a sustained effort by a dedicated team, and the patience and encouragement of our vineyard estate owners, we have created a special community that all of us can be very proud of.

And best of all... the wine is terrific!
