The Mendoza Wine Route

If you are traveling the Mendoza Caminos del Vino (Mendoza Wine Route) we invite you to include San Rafael in your itinerary.  We have our own special terroir that produces excellent, well-balanced wines including our gold medal winning Calitina Malbec Reserva 2006.

The Calitina Wine Resort is a total of eighteen and one-half hectares (46 acres) at 760 meters above sea level including Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Bonarda, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Chardonnay vineyards, olive groves and fruit orchards.  We use organic farming practices wherever possible to enable us to produce wine that reflects the unique character of each varietal.

Wine Salon

The Calitina Wine Salon (opening 2012) will offer wine and olive oil tastings and vineyard tours daily.

We are currently remodeling and expanding our facilities.  Wine tastings are now being conducted below a beautiful 100-year old aguaribay tree near our gold medal winning Malbec vineyards.  Please contact us to make an appointment or to schedule a wine tasting event.

La Posada

La Posada de Calitina (opening 2012) will provide guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Argentine vineyard lifestyle.  Each guest room will be just steps away from our privately owned vineyard estates.  La Posada de Calitina will include an authentic Argentine parilla, fully equipped kitchen, well stocked wine cellar, swimming pool, bocce courts and gardens.  Please contact us to be notified when we are accepting reservations.

The Calitina Wine Resort (opening 2012) will offer a Napa Valley style wine tasting and lodging experience in the southern Mendoza province.
